Allow us to take you to Goomtee Tea Estate, located at Mahanadi, a small hamlet, just a few kilometers away from the picuresque town of Kurseong .

A century old plantation, laid out with acres of rolling tea bushes that virtually appear like a lush green carpet. The sunny slopes and the misty valley. A beautiful, heritage bungalow, with its well-appointed rooms, that has played host to generations of tea planters (Sahibs and Memsahibs) since the days of the Raj. Stay there for a night or two and experience the luxury of being pampered... Colonial style. An unique opportunity to live the real lifestyle of the "Burra Sahibs" of yore. Relax in the garden over a proper traditional "High Tea" and while away your time amidst our collection of books on Tea and other topics.

After a comfortable nights sleep, wake up to the sweet chirping of birds and the rare smell of un-polluted fresh air along with the un-mistakable aroma exuding from the clusters of tea bushes. Take a refreshing morning walk, meandering along the Tea bushes and steal a chance to watch the tea pluckers collect the prize catch of the day... the legendary "Two Leaves and a Bud". Splash in the luxury of a bathtub and begin your day with a thorough continental breakfast, albeit vegetarian.

Visit the factory for a first hand experience of the fascinating manufacture of the world renowned  Darjeeling Teas.  From  the

delicate two leaves and a bud to the fragrant infusion in your teacup, discover what makes a truly fine tea. A Tea Tasting Session will be arranged exclusively for you at the factory's Tea Tasting Room.

Return back home with heady memories of a nostalgic lifestyle and of your favourite Darjeeling Tea..."The Champagne of Teas". Do not forget to make a pledge to come back for more.

This experience is available with the following options:-

1. Drive to the plantation. See tea pluckers in action. Visit the factory and watch the process of tea manufacture with a tea tasting session thrown in.

2. Same trip as (1) above including a lunch at the Burra Sahib's bungalow, hosted by the Plantation Manager.

3. One or two nights stay at the bungalow inclusive of all meals and all the action.

Transportation, Ex-Darjeeling/Bagdogra Airport/NJP Railway Station will be duly arranged as per individual requirements. Similar excursions can be arranged at other plantations also, depending on availability of accommodation from time to time. Heritage Toy Train Journey, either way to or from the plantation is also possible, since the plantation starts from just behind Mahanadi Railway Station.

The pleasure of sipping a hot cup of tea and transferring its warmth to our body is as satisfying as the front warm glow that we feel in of a hearth. A cup of tea serves as a medium for friendship ---- many important deals are finalized over a cup of tea.

Tea reaches across generations. It is drunk all day and in moments of crisis, it truly transcends social categories. Regardless of culture tea brings people together.

That’s the life sustaining nature of its warmth. We start our day with a cup of tea. We welcome our guests with a cup of tea. Universally, any time is tea time. It seems that a cup of tea is the answer to all questions. Whether it is hot or cold, whether we are busy or idle, whether we are lonely or with friends ---- we always reach for that magic cup that seems to fill all the gaps in our life ----- What would the world do without tea !

The Tea Board of India has introduced a special Darjeeling Logo to be used for Export of Darjeeling Teas. This has been necessitated because more than 4 times Darjeeling Tea is sold all over the world than is actually produced. Further, the word “ Darjeeling ” has also been Patented. To use the word Darjeeling and the Logo, a licence has to be obtained from the Tea Board by all exporters and traders of Darjeeling Tea.
